Council set to unveil plan for Shannon

As Transport Minister Leo Varadkar finalises the government strategy for the future of Shannon Airport, Clare County Council said yesterday it will unveil its planning roadmap for the airport and Shannon Town on Dec 10.

Council set to unveil plan for Shannon

The launch of the Shannon Town and Environs Local Area Plan 2012-2018 coincides with the separation of Shannon from Dublin Airport Authority (DAA).

Under the Government’s plan, the €100m Shannon debt will be taken over by DAA, which in turn will be granted control of the Aer Rianta Duty Free shops, which generate profits of over €30m a year.
