Autism charity warns over budget cuts

A series of government cuts topping €1m may force a charity to slash services to adults and children with intellectual disability and autism.

The quality of service, staff numbers, and waiting lists at CoAction West Cork has been hit hard by cuts since the beginning of the recession.

The organisation says it is “very fearful” of the December budget, warning that further cuts will bring reductions in services.
