Detective team launches cold case review

The Garda Cold Case Unit has launched a review of the investigation into the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

A team of detectives has begun the lengthy process of examining all documentation in relation to the murder, including witness statements, suspect statements, and any forensic or DNA evidence gathered.

Ms du Plantier, 39, was found beaten to death outside her holiday home in Toormore, near Schull, West Cork, on Dec 23, 1996.
