Sinn Féin pushes for X case motion but has yet to convince one of its own

Sinn Féin has urged all TDs in Leinster House to support its motion on abortion — even though one of its own deputies has yet to do so.

The party’s motion calling on the Government to legislate immediately for the X case will be debated tonight and voted upon tomorrow.

However, one Sinn Féin TD, Peadar Tóibín, who describes himself as pro-life, has not signed the motion.
