Two die as road crash victims are honoured

The latest victim, a woman in her 20s, was thrown from her car when it went out of control near Ennis, Co Clare, and hit a barrier beside the M18 motorway. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite the immediate attentions of a surgeon, who was driving a short distance behind the woman’s red Nissan.

A second woman, believed to be her mother, was treated for serious injuries. The pair were travelling from Shannon Airport to Athenry.
