Dole figures to remain a big problem until 2015

Unemployment is set to remain a serious problem until at least 2015, according to the Government’s medium-term fiscal review.

Unemployment is forecast to peak at 14.8% this year, and only marginally improve to 13% in 2015.

In the 2011 medium-term statement, the forecast was for unemployment to peak at 14% this year before gradually easing to 11.6% in 2015.
