Taoiseach Enda Kenny has rejected claims from opposition parties that the passing of the children’s rights constitutional amendment was “stained” by Government incompetence during the campaign.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin made the accusation in light of the Supreme Court ruling that the Coalition’s publicly funded €1.1m information push had been “extensively” biased.

Mr Kenny said he would not be drawn on the Supreme Court judgment until its full details are delivered on Dec 11, because he did not want to “prejudice it”.
