Councillors cannot get copy of legal advice

Cork’s city manager says he cannot provide councillors with the legal advice which informed their decision to vote against mounting a legal challenge against a retail project.

Tim Lucey said because judicial proceedings were being taken by other parties in relation to the proposed retail centre at Model Farm Rd, he was not in a position to provide councillors with a copy of the legal advice the council obtained ahead of a motion in October.

The matter is sub judice, he said.
