TD wants transparency on tax spend

Taxpayers should get an annual statement breaking down how their taxes are spent, Fine Gael TD Eoghan Murphy has said.

He introduced legislation yesterday in the Dáil which, if accepted by the Government, would see such a system introduced.

Mr Murphy said that while the current administration had made great strides in making public spending more transparent, more could be done.
