Three closure orders and two prohibition orders were issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) in Cork last month.

Food safety body has its busiest month in 10 years

It was the FSAI’s busiest month for issuing orders in 10 years, with 12 closure orders and six prohibition orders served nationwide.

A closure order was issued to Milan Lukac of Slovakpoint grocery, 5 Lavitt’s Quay, Cork, under the FSAI Act 1998 because HSE officials deemed there was, or likely to be, a grave and immediate danger to public health at the premises. It was issued on Oct 24, but lifted two days later.
