Tyre labels help motorists get a grip on costs

From today, cash-strapped motorists will be able to find out which tyres to buy in order to save on fuel costs.

Under an EU regulation which is now in force, every new tyre has to come with an easy-to-read label displaying information on three essential aspects of performance: Fuel efficiency, wet grip, and external rolling noise.

Using clear and easy-to-understand images, the label will help consumers make informed choices when buying tyres.
