Couple start their married streak €30k better off

A lucky bride started her first day of married life yesterday with a new name and €32,700 in the bank.

Mary Hamdam (née O’Sullivan), 34, from Shrove, Co Donegal, was stunned when she was picked to appear on Winning Streak on the same day as her wedding to Eoin. As all their nearest and dearest were celebrating the nuptials in Donegal, it fell to a friend’s daughter, Dubliner Ciara Ní Chleirigh, 21, to take Mary’s seat on the show.

Mary and Eoin woke up in their marital suite at the Redcastle Hotel yesterday beaming after a wonderful wedding and the knowledge they are €32,700 better off.
