The children’s rights referendum on Nov 10 is, according to Children’s Minister Frances Fitzgerald, historic — an opportunity to leave behind this country’s legacy of failing its children.

But will people turn up to vote? Turnout is now becoming a real concern in Government circles and among the yes campaign in general.

The polls show that while an overwhelming majority of people are minded to vote yes, many of them are not that well informed about the proposed constitutional amendment.
