Kenny: Yes vote puts all children on equal basis

Enda Kenny urged parents to consider a yes vote in the children’s rights’ referendum as being an opportunity to give children at risk the same opportunities as their own children.

Speaking at a breakfast briefing in Cork, he said a solid yes vote would put all children on an equal footing and allow abused ones “the emotional back-up of a loving family”.

He said: “For those who have children and for those who raise a family. there isn’t anything they wouldn’t do for them. It is so important to give children a place, a platform in life, a childhood that they can carry through adulthood and as they make their mark in their world.
