Revenue faces over €400m in losses

Revenue chiefs have warned the finance minister they face losses of over €400m next year unless they get extra resources and staff, including numbers to help take over the planned property tax.

A small amount of potential cuts to the agency would mean €265m in cashflow losses for Revenue as well as a further €142m being lost to the exchequer.

A letter made available to the Oireachtas Finance Committee from the agency warns that “Revenue is down to its bottom line”.
