Senators to dine with Vatican representative

Senators will wine and dine in private with the papal nuncio in Leinster House tomorrow — a year after blistering criticism of the Vatican in the Dáil.

Senators have arranged a €25-a-head sit-down dinner in the private members’ restaurant in Leinster House with the Vatican’s representative to Ireland, the Irish Examiner has learned.

Government Seanad chief whip Paul Coghlan has arranged the evening with Archbishop Charles John Brown, the papal nuncio, ahead of the Vatican representative speaking at an event in the senator’s hometown next month.
