Extension for Nama scheme to protect buyers

Nama has announced an extension of its 80:20 deferred payment scheme which protects buyers from reductions in the value of the property by up to 20% over the next five years.

Nama yesterday said it is placing a further 180 properties on sale under the initiative designed to cushion prospective buyers from the threat of negative equity.

The added properties are in Carlow, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Limerick, Meath, Sligo, and Wexford. They range in size from two-bedroom to five-bedroom homes, with prices starting from €100,000.
