Tallaght secures €12m overdraft

Tallaght Hospital has secured a €12m overdraft from AIB due its worsening financial situation.

Hospital management say they secured an overdraft last year too and said they “mightn’t necessarily use all the funds”.

They described the move as “prudent” as the hospital was over budget by over €10m in July. Finance officers sought a letter of support from the HSE for the overdraft.
