April search covers hostile terrain as police quiz suspect

The search for Welsh five year old April Jones widened into hostile terrain, as police questioned suspect Mark Bridger, 46, for clues about her whereabouts.

They were given another 12 hours to question the man.

It has also emerged that April suffers from cerebral palsy and needs medication.

Yesterday, the search grew near Snowdonia National Park in an area described as a “hostile environment”.

Supt Ian John said the scale of the investigation was “unprecedented” including 100 mountain rescue experts and 100 search officers.
