Ireland will not be able to cope with its huge debt without help from the EU in cutting its cost, Taoiseach Enda Kenny has admitted.

He will push for a deal during the Irish presidency that begins in January and said this would not lead to accusations of pursuing national interests because Ireland’s interest was the EU’s interest and vice versa.
