Homeless people want to work and up-skill, despite facing majors barriers and prejudice when it comes to finding a job.

One in five homeless clients take part in training programmes

Cork Simon said thanks to its housing, health, and education supports, one in five of its clients have taken part in training programmes in the past year, a higher rate than the national average. However, secure long-term housing combined with a range of health and education supports are vital if they are to have any chance overcoming such barriers.

The hopes and concerns are among the main findings of a report due to be published by Cork Simon today as part of its week-long campaign on homelessness.
