Man wanted in UK over €200k rhino horn theft

Police in Britain are seeking the extradition of a Co Limerick man they want in connection with the theft of a €200,000 rhino horn, the High Court was told yesterday.

Michael Kealy, of Abbeylands, Askeaton, Co Limerick, was released on €15,000 cash bail to await trial on a European Arrest Warrant. His case was adjourned until Oct 9.

Det Sgt James Kirwan told the court he arrested Mr Kealy in a carpark at Fiddtown, Piltown, Co Kilkenny, yesterday at 7.45am.
