RTÉ hopes its new Cork-based live daytime show will help combat criticism that it exists in a ‘D4 bubble’.

Colm Crowley, the series editor of the Today show, said critics often argue that the State broadcaster is dominated by “the view from Donnybrook”.

“Today will be about moving the focus out of Dublin and getting a different point of view,” he said.
