75% in favour of community text alert

Three out of four people would support a text alert scheme in their community.

More than one in four of the 5,200 people polled said they would go a step further and set up a text-based system in their area.

The survey, carried out by AA Ireland Home Insurance, found that 65% of people would be somewhat or very likely to join a neighbourhood watch group.
