Lying Eyes Collins released from jail

Better known as Lying Eyes, the alias she used when emailing her Egyptian hitman, she was not due for release until next March when she was due to be released on good behaviour.

However, it is understood the 48-year-old left the Dóchas Centre at Mountjoy yesterday on temporary release, under certain conditions.

The Clare woman was jailed on Nov 28, 2008, for soliciting a man to kill her partner of 10 years and his sons so she could inherit his estimated €60m fortune.

The 48-year-old was found guilty of both soliciting hitman and casino worker, Essam Eid to kill PJ Howard and his two sons, and of conspiracy to kill the three men. She arranged the contract killings via a ‘Hitman for Hire’ website.

Mr Howard and his sons Robert and Niall sat through the 2006 trial, with Mr Howard voicing his continuing support for the woman who plotted to kill him and his sons while expressing disbelief in a victim impact statement that she would ever consider such a course of action.

Late last year, she lost an appeal against her conviction with the court rejecting all 23 grounds of her case.
