A Fine Gael TD has offered to facilitate talks between landlords and officials from University College Cork in a bid to tackle anti-social student behaviour.

Jerry Buttimer stepped in last night after the body representing landlords who own property around UCC criticised the university for failing to engage with them.

Mr Buttimer hit out at landlords on Monday for not attending a meeting of Cork City’s joint policing committee (JPC), where gardaí outlined plans to crack down on anti-social issues affecting residential areas around the city’s two biggest third-level colleges.
