The husband of former tánaiste, Mary Coughlan, will be buried in Donegal tomorrow.

Husband of former tánaiste dies, aged 48

David Charlton, who had been suffering from cancer, died on Saturday night, aged just 48.

Mr Charlton, a garda, who met Ms Coughlan while working in Leinster House in the 1990s, passed away at home in Frosses, surrounded by his wife, 15-year-old son Cathal and 13-year-old daughter Maeve.
