Man stabbed and another beaten

One man was stabbed and another beaten with a hurley in separate attacks in Cork City yesterday.

A man in his late 20s was stabbed with a knife during a row with another man around the same age near a public green in the Castle Park estate in Ballincollig at about 3.15pm.

He suffered stab wounds to his arms and lower body and was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening.
