Heritage Council forced to axe grants

There will be no grants available from the Heritage Council next year because its funding has run out, it has emerged.

Over the past decade, the Heritage Council, charged with identifying, protecting, preserving, and enhancing Ireland’s national heritage, has funded an average of 500 projects annually.

There was just €1.35m available this year for heritage research, conservation, and education that the public could apply for.
