Labour tells Reilly: Sort out HSE overspend

Labour has warned Health Minister James Reilly that his failure to get a grip on the escalating HSE overspend could put the economic recovery at risk and make December’s grim budget even worse.

Party chairman Colm Keaveney also made it clear the combative minister needed to change his attitude to the coalition partner after a series of ugly public rows.

In a sign of simmering government tensions ahead of the return of the Dáil next month, Mr Keaveney made it clear Labour is unhappy with the situation in the Department of Health.
