Daughters in court to discover fate of €8k allowance

The children of bankrupt businessman Seán Quinn are due back before the High Court today to see if they will be permitted to retain entitlement to monthly living expenses of €8,000 each.

The entrepreneur’s five children — Colette-Marie, Aoife, Brenda, Ciara, and Seán Jr — as well as his nephew and two sons-in-law — are restricted by court order from reducing their individual assets below €50m each.

However, they have been granted monthly living expenses of €8,000 each subject to the approval of lawyers for Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (formerly Anglo Irish Bank).
