Michaela images: Police to press charges

Police in Mauritius are preparing to press charges against the newspaper which published graphic images of Michaela McAreavey’s body for either “sedition or outrage against public morality”.

Imraan Hosany, editor of the island’s Sunday Times newspaper, was yesterday questioned by officers of the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) about the black and white shots published on its front page and over two inside pages.

They show Ms McAreav-ey’s remains, Room 1025 in the Legends Hotel in which she was murdered, and close-up images of injuries on her neck.
