Wallace refuses to resign

Independent TD Mick Wallace has refused to resign his Dáil seat, as he offered up half of his salary to meet part of the €2.1m his company owes Revenue.

In an apologetic and emotional statement to the Dáil, he said his seat belonged to the people of Wexford and “they will discard me when they see fit”.

He said sorry to his constituents and “all the people who expected more from me”.
