College enrolling for teen radio camp

UCC Campus Radio is offering people the chance to join its popular radio camp that runs throughout June and July, from Monday to Friday from noon to 5pm each day.

The course is aimed at 14 to 17-year-olds who have a general interest in radio or music and want to try their hand out at production and presenting.

The course will also cover such aspects as how to write for radio, how to present and produce shows, interview techniques and what is libel.

Those taking the course will also get to see how to record and edit Voxpops and how to podcast a show.

A UCC spokesman said students get to go on air each day in the afternoon.

Places are limited and the cost is €175 per student.
