Eleven people, including several with special needs, were injured in two separate road traffic collisions in Co Clare yesterday.

The first collision, which involved a minibus and a car, happened at around 1pm near Cranny Cross on the main N68 Ennis to Kilrush road. The accident happened close to where a young man was critically injured in a single-car crash last Thursday morning.

The minibus is understood to have been carrying a group of children with special needs, of varying ages, when it collided with a car.
