Stabbing upgraded to murder inquiry

The stabbing of a 31-year-old man in Cork on Friday is now being treated as murder after the victim died in hospital last night.

Davin Hamilton was stabbed in the chest at Kerryhall Road, Fairhill, on Friday afternoon and was in a critical condition for a number of days in Cork University Hospital. Mr Hamilton died yesterday and gardaí upgraded the investigation to a murder inquiry.

Meanwhile, gardaí are investigating a third stabbing within four days in Cork City. None of the incidents were related.
