A man died from multiple stab wounds and multiple blows to the head after a family feud sparked a vicious brawl outside a Cork city pub last Christmas.

The evidence was heard yesterday at Cork City Coroner’s Court, where the inquest into the death of Gerard Delaney, 51, from 6 Lakeland Crescent, Mahon, Cork, was opened and adjourned.

Mr Delaney died from his injuries after a fight involving up to 20 people erupted outside the Manhattan Bar in Ballyphehane in the early hours of Dec 27 last. It was sparked after a row flared earlier between members of the rival factions.
