Commemorative stamps honour famous figures

An Post have unveiled four new stamps to commemorate the centenary of the sinking of the Royal Mail Steamer (RMS) Titanic.

They were unveiled as part of the national tribute in Cobh, Co Cork, by Irish athletics legend Sonia O’Sullivan; local postman Paul O’Neill; Vincent McMahon, of the Cobh Titanic Society; and Isabelle Fitzpatrick, 6, whose grandfather, Ted Poe, was a postman in the town.

The stamps, designed by renowned Irish designer, Ger Garland, feature famous figures associated with the Titanic, set against different backgrounds.
