200 concrete posts in road project

Engineers will have to drive some 200 concrete piles into the ground over the next six weeks to support a key section of the new ring road around Cork city.

A giant rig has been brought in to carry out the complex engineering operation on the N25 project just off the Sarsfield Road in Wilton.

The work is due to get underway immediately after the Easter weekend, and is likely to take until mid-May to complete.
