Burton the thorn that can’t be removed from Coalition’s side

Charlie Flanagan could hardly have phrased the question more bluntly: “Has Joan Burton a government deathwish?”

He posed the question in a message on his Twitter account. Fine Gael subsequently confirmed the veracity of the tweet, but said Mr Flanagan had been speaking in a personal capacity.

Mr Flanagan did not return calls seeking further explanation.
