Traders and residents in a West Cork town are seeking commercial rate cuts and an easing of parking restrictions during a planned €6.5m drainage scheme works.

The scheme in Bandon, due to improve surface water drainage and flood relief, will commence next month.

Under the plan, 14.6km of pipeline will be laid along with 272 manholes while two pumping stations will also be built.
