Bedside vigil for circus worker after elephant accident

Justino Munez, a Spanish national in his 30s, is in a serious but stable condition in Cork University Hospital (CUH) after sustaining serious internal injuries when he was accidentally crushed by Baby, a 2.5-tonne elephant at Courtney Brothers Circus, which was based in Blackpool, Cork, on Saturday.

An elephant charged at Baby and knocked her on top of Mr Munez as he cleaned the elephants’ outdoor holding pen.
