Spring sunshine set to sizzle... out

Being Ireland, it was never going to last — and by early next week, the unseasonably hot and sunny weather we have experienced over the last few days will be but a memory.

Nonetheless, according to the Met Éireann forecast, much of the country will at least have the weekend to savour reasonably favourable conditions before the temperatures slump back down to more seasonal norms on Monday.

Today, the view of cloudless skies that many have enjoyed over the past week will be blighted by cloud over much of the northern half of the country.
