State allocates €251m to social housing

Jan O’Sullivan, minister for housing and planning, said the money being provided to city and county councils was coming from the total funding pool of €691m available to her department at a time when the social housing capital budget had been depleted by cutbacks in recent years.

The largest single allocation is to Dublin City Council, which will receive €12m for new housing supply and €50m to improve housing stock, including regeneration projects.
