The family of a 10-month-old baby know that they are in a race against time to try to save her life.

This week fundraising is intensifying to raise the €100,000 needed to get stem cell treatment for little Ellen Barron McGee. Her family fear that if she does not get the treatment “she will not see 18 months”.

Sadly her parents Tom, 33, and Lisa, 35, know all too well the tragedy that could await her because they lost their son Christian to the same mitochondrial disorder 10 years ago. He was 18 months old.
