Tax represents ‘a local charge for local services’

Cork’s city manager has warned of a deterioration in essential local government services if the household charge is not collected.

In a letter to city councillors, Tim Lucey said the issue “goes to the core of local government”.

“It is a local charge for local services,” he said.
