A 12-year-old schoolgirl had to be treated in hospital after being found drunk on a street in Co Donegal.

The shocking incident has caused alarm among gardaí and medical staff after the child was discovered on Letterkenny’s Main Street on Saturday evening.

The schoolgirl had earlier tried to enter a premises in the town but was refused.
