Senior civil servants to oversee staff exodus

Senior civil servants are to lead five transition teams to oversee the mass exodus of public servants in a bid to avoid gaps emerging in frontline and emergency services.

Fears over court sittings being cancelled emerged in recent days after the Government was warned about retiring numbers.

Five assistant secretary generals have been chosen to oversee transition teams coping with numbers leaving health, justice, education, local authorities and the civil service.
