Hospitals will be penalised for providing inaccurate information, Health Minister James Reilly has warned.

“We need more accurate data and better and wider use of it but always with the patient in mind,” the minister told a conference on patient safety.

“Into the future, we will be putting in place incentives and penalties for hospitals who do and do not report information accurately,” he said.
