Drinking water restored to 1,500 Limerick homes
Limerick County Council, following consultation with the HSE, last night restored the water supply but confirmed a temporary boil water notice would remain in place until early next week.
The notice applies to Foynes, Shanagolden, Askeaton, Morgans, Barrigone, Creeves, Ballysteen, Castletown and Kilcornan. A boil water notice remains in place for the Pallaskenry and Kildimo water main supply.
Paul Crowe, director of services, said: “Following an evaluation of the most recent water quality test results and further consultation with the HSE, it has been decided to reduce the restriction on the use of the water main supply. The water main supply in all areas is now subject to a boil water notice. This means that the water from the water main supply should be boiled before drinking and cooking.”
